The history of Miss Selfridge
What about the Miss Selfridge brand? Originally born way back in 1966, it started life as a young fashion department within the Selfridges department store, located in London. The first standalone outlets were to be launched just 3 years later.
In 1984, some 18 years after its foundation, the brand received its first advertising campaign, drawing it to the attention of many more shoppers.
It became part of the Arcadia Group in 1999 and the flagship Miss Selfridge store opened in London's Oxford Street in 2001. In 2006 the brand celebrated its 40th year.
